It's time for me to do some painting practice again. This time is just practicing my ability to observe light and color using still life photography. It's particularly fun to paint the glass bottle and learn how light works on transparent objects, how the saturation and colors work in those situations. I hope to dedicate more time doing these studies a few times a week. Then I can hopefully improve my ability to paint from imagination. I'm really liking painting subsurface scattering. The color is amazing. It's so much fun to observe how color and light changes with surface angle. Still life practice is great for learning how to render different type of materials and how they interact with light.
